I have become quite a fan of your page. I was kinda curious if you had any favorite restaurants? I do like to cook at home as I know you do but every once in a while I think eating other people’s food does inspire your own cooking!!

Thanks! Chicago is such a wonderful restaurant city, so I’m sure there are many, many fabulous places I haven’t tried yet, but the short short list of my favs includes:

    Tango Sur (steaks)
    Sayat Nova (Armenian food)
    Orange on Roscoe (brunch)
    Sweet Occasions (ice cream)
    Diner Grill (greasy diner food)
    Sweet Collective (desserts)

I’m sure Alinea and Charlie Trotter’s and the like would make the list if I were magically rich. Since I’m not, I’m in love with the fact that Chicago has so many dining options that I don’t feel like I’m missing out. Plus, you can’t beat the Slinger at Diner Grill!

    Hey Jen,

Love your website! I’m telling everyone about it. We will try the Beef Stroganoff recipe this weekend. I understand it was quite a hit! How would you like to try shrimp tortellini?

    Jen,

Have you seen Julia & Julia yet?!! Thought of you…the whole movie reminded me of you! Very fun movie. I think the “Reckless Chef” has great potential……how about writing and publishing a book now?

Surprisingly, I have not yet seen it! I think we were supposed to go last weekend, but couldn’t find a convenient showing, so we saw something else instead. It’s definitely on my to-do list…might have to go one of these evenings that B is out of town!

      Also, you’re too sweet :)

Small melon baler….to hollow out your strawberries or any other fruit. I went to culinary school and I thought that was a nice little trick I learned.

    • Jenny Says:

Yes! I’ve been meaning to post that for a long time, but the text file I saved the recipe to is on my other computer. I’ll find it and post later this evening. Thanks for the reminder!
